Duvet and Pillow Shams

Changing the look of your bedding can change your entire room and mood, and this pattern makes it so fun and easy to do so! Designed for light-to-medium-weight woven fabrics (chambray, sateen, etc), View A has a border from contrast fabric, while View B has side panels from contrast fabric and piping in seams. (Consider making your own piping if you have a zipper or cording foot.)

Patterns are included for standard, queen, and king-sized shams, and for twin, full/queen, and king duvets. Be sure to allow for shrinkage and pattern matching when purchasing fabric. You'll need five 3/4" buttons for twin, eight for full/queen, and nine for king -- luckily we have a wide selection from which to choose! This is Kwik-Sew 3356.

With 54" wide fabric, Sham View A requires 1/2 yard of fabric and 3/4 yard of contrast for standard, 1 yard of fabric and 3/4 yard of contrast for queen and king. Sham View B requires 3/4 yard of fabric and contrast for each size. Duvet View A requires 4 yards of fabric and 3 7/8 of contrast for twin, 8 yards of fabric and 4 5/8 of contrast for full/queen, and 8 yards of fabric and 5 yards of contrast for king. Duvet View B calls for 5 1/8 yard of fabric and contrast for twin or full/queen, and 10 1/8 yard of fabric and 5 1/8 yard of contrast for king. Duvet View B also calls for 5 yards of piping, and Sham View B needs 1 1/4 yard.
